How many events are there?

Our wedding is a multi-day celebration with the following main events:

  • Church Ceremony – Religious ceremony - attendance is not required

  • Saturday Wedding Celebration – Formal event

  • Sunday Wedding Celebration – Cultural event

  • Exact times and locations are shared on the Schedule page

Is there a dress code for the church ceremony?

Yes. All guests are requested to wear white for the church ceremony, in keeping with Ethiopian/Eritrean Orthodox tradition. We ask that women wear a scarf to wrap their hair. Generally women sit on one side, and men will sit on the opposite side.

Can non-Orthodox guests attend the church ceremony?

Absolutely. All guests are welcome to attend and experience this important part of the celebration.

What is the dress code for Saturday?

Saturday is Formal Attire.
Suits, tuxes, evening gowns, and formal dresses are encouraged.

What is the dress code for Sunday?

Sunday is Cultural Attire. Traditional Eritrean/Ethiopian clothing is encouraged. Guests may also wear elegant or semi-formal attire if they do not have cultural clothing, preferably all-white.

Do I need a passport or visa to travel?

Yes, a valid passport is required to enter Canada. Some travelers may also need a visa or ETA. Please check Canadian travel requirements early and let us know if you need help.
